Download free music and video from websites using Free Music Zilla, an automated media finder. Free Music Zilla works by monitoring the user's web browser and locating music or video clips, which will then be displayed on the program's interface for easy later retrieval and downloading. Included are options to decide which browsers Free Music Zilla should or shouldn't monitor, where to put downloaded files, and whether the program starts upon setup.
Free Music Zilla was originally developed to retrieve files from sites such as Last.fm, Imeem and MySpace. Although it failed to keep up with the development of these sites and no longer functions with either of them, it is still extremely useful elsewhere, including on popular video websites such as YouTube. Free Music Zilla is adept at grabbing embedded videos and free sample MP3s featured on many blogs and other websites as well.
File names appear labeled in the same way that the site they were taken from labeled them, meaning many video and music sites will not appear neatly organized by title or artist name. Once multiple files have been encountered and picked up by Free Music Zilla, this tends to result in a bit of guessing and downloading before the desired file can finally be located.
